Bio

Samuel A. Miller is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art where he received a B.F.A. degree in 2006.

Born and raised in Silver Spring, MD, a suburb of Washington, D.C., Sam was admitted as a freshman to the nationally-recognized Montgomery County Visual Arts Center located within the Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, MD. Sam received national recognition as a junior when he was given an honorable mention in the 2002 ARTS contest, one of 12 students to receive such recognition among 3,869 entries. As a result of his work at the Visual Arts Center, Sam received more than $85,000 in scholarship offers and was admitted to such leading art schools as the Corcoran College of Art and Design (Washington, DC), the Rhode Island School of Design (Providence, RI), Pratt (Brooklyn, NY). Tyler (Philadelphia), the Maryland College Institute of Art (Baltimore) and the School of Visual Arts (New York).

Sam is currently employed at the Galerie Francoise in Lutherville, MD., a Baltimore suburb. Sam's responsibilities include setting up shows and working with clients and artists.

Sam's work has been shown at MICA's Senior Show (2006), the Abstract Drawing Show and High Altitude. As well, his work has appeared on public television and at the Baltimore Artscape. His most work involves the use of vinyl tape in making various symbols, logos and other identifiers.
